What is it and how does it work?
What is the Capture Code?
The capture code is a snippet of JavaScript that is added to the code of your website. It enables our tracking technology to track calls, emails and form submissions into the Client Centre. Our optimisation technology requires the data generated by the tracking of calls, emails and web events to understand what clicks are generating valuable business for our clients, and which ones aren’t.
Through the Capture Code we can easily implement the pixels and widgets needed to enhance other products without any additional assistance from your webmaster or web developer. Retargeting pixels, chat widgets, and the Facebook pixel can harness the technology of the Capture Code to provide the highest level of service to make your marketing campaign a success.
What changes does the Capture Code make to my website?
The capture code adds a privacy policy to the website to ensure that the LOCALiQ marketing platform and service is GDPR compliant. This privacy policy is not intended to replace your current privacy policy on site as it refers to LOCALiQ T&Cs which may not cover all of your products and services. The placement of the privacy policy can be moved from the header to the footer of the site which can be done by your Account Manager.
To track phone calls, the capture code switches out the original numbers on the website with replacement tracking numbers. We will always endeavour to use the same area code as the original number on the website, but we are unable to provide 07 or 0300 area codes – in these instances we will use the local area code. Depending on how a user arrived on the website a different number will display. The Client Centre attributes the source of a call by the last click that brought a user to the website. We can therefore track the source from each campaign, organic search, direct web address, directory, social, or other source such as paid campaigns not run by LOCALiQ.
